Big Sur Campout and 10k

This is one of my favorite weekends of the year. I've the Big Sur 10k more often than any other event. It's a flat, fast, fantistically beautiful course in Pfeiffer State Park, Big Sur. And it starts at the very civilized time of 10am on Saturday October 27, 2007.

We go down to Big Sur on Friday and camp the night before. A trip to the local restaurant to get dinner is followed by a few songs and stories around the campfire. There's plenty of time to have breakfast before walking over to the start of the event. This is more or less the last weekend to camp before winter. The clocks change on November 4 and it's too dark/cold after this. So for that 'Say Bye to Summer' experience, join us a Big Sur on Friday night and run on Saturday morning.

Of course with a 10am start, it's also possible to drive down from San Jose for the 10k. No need to camp if you don't fancy that.

After the run, and the music at the end, it's time for breakfast. Pancakes and syrup and scrambled eggs. Cooked on the stove in the campsite. Ummmmmm I can smell this even as I write it.
