Thanksgiving Turkey Relays: November 27th, 2008
Once again we have Mike F to thank for a relatively guilt free indulgence of turkey and pumpkin pie yesterday. Mike hosted the annual Strider's family and friends turkey relays at De Anza college track. About 8 teams of 3 lined up to do 4 x 300mtr legs of the relay (each). It was a lovely cool overcast morning and the competition was pretty hot (unless you happen to have Jean P on your team). We tried to even up the teams by teaming Jean with the youngest runner (Angus aged 8) and Andrew in a knee brace and when that didn't work we switched teams again but Jean's team was victorious both times and he took home the coveted trophies (Xmas mugs) yet again this year. They must have quite a collection their house by now. The rest of us enjoyed skittles as consolation prizes. Thanks Mike for another fun start to Thanksgiving Day.
