The Striders have group runs every Saturday morning at 8:30am in Stevens Creek County Park. The park is located along Stevens Canyon Road in the foothills between Cupertino and Saratoga. We meet in the lower parking lot, just below the dam. The turnout's typically between 20 and 30 runners and walkers. We run or walk in groups of 4-6 of similar pace and ability.
Before running, we hold a group meeting for about 10 minutes. The meeting deals with announcements of results and information about upcoming races and events. After the Saturday run (typically about 90 minutes), many of us go for breakfast at Cupertino Hobee's restaurant. This is in The Oaks Shopping Center, Stevens Creek Blvd, Cupertino. It's opposite De Anza College. We have a reserved table - so we don't have to wait.
There's a day charge of $6 by Santa Clara County Council for parking at Stevens Creek County Park. And you'll get a ticket from the ranger if you don't pay! (guaranteed $65 fine - don't think about parking without paying). An annual pass (season ticket) costs $80 a year. The annual pass allows you to use any of the parking lots in the Santa Clara County Park System.
You can buy a day or annual pass from the machine in the parking lot. The machine accepts credit cards.
