Coyote Peak Trail

Description

This is a steep climb. The trail climbs 800 feet in 1 mile. So don't go here if you don't want a very thorough workout. You've been warned.

Mind you, it's really beautiful and has an awesome view over South San Jose (looking North) and Coyote Creek Valley leading to Morgain Hill (looking South).

The Trail is part of Santa Teresa County Park. The Peak is of course the real challenge and if you keep away from that, then you'll be able to enjoy a slightly less demanding run.

Location

This trail is located close to the end of the lightrail line to Santa Teresa. It's also close the intersection of Highway-85 and US-101 in Santa Teresa. So if you proceed along 85 or 101, you should exit at Santa Teresa. The Peak is on your left. There are several entrances to the park.
